New York, Portraits of Chinatown (2023)
I’ve spent the past two years walking through the streets of Chinatown, documenting the people who live, work, pray, fight, and grow old here. What began as daily observations turned into a long-term project—culminating in a photography book and a series of interviews that trace the soul of this neighborhood. Chinatown Sequences is both a portrait of a place and a meditation on migration, memory, and belonging.
Community Connections
Throughout this journey, I received generous support from the Chinatown BID. Special thanks to the leader of Chinatown----Wellington Chen, who helped open the door to the real heart of the neighborhood. Through these connections, I met people from all walks of life—teachers, veterans, business owners, judges, artists, and community leaders—each with their own story to tell.
If you’re working on a project related to New York’s Chinatown, I’d love to hear from you. I’m open to collaborations of all kinds.
