The Book
Chinatown 32 Sequences is an independently published photo-documentary book, written by Wang Mengxi and designed by Chen Ziqing.
Completed in late 2024, the book presents 32 real-life stories from New York’s Chinatown, blending photography and narrative. It traces a Chinatown shaped by migration, memory, and quiet endurance—seen through the everyday lives of those who call it home.
Through vivid photography and storytelling, this book highlights the lives of longtime residents and new immigrants, offering an intimate look at the community’s enduring legacy amid constant change.
In October 2024, a book launch event was successfully hosted, which drew over 120 attendees and received great attention from the Chinatown community. We are eager to share this work with a wider audience.
